20 Million Out-of-School-Children in Pakistan: Report of 20 million children are outside the school in Pakistan according to the reports jointly released by the Sindh Education & Literacy Department and Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The report was issued on the account of World Literacy Day, reporting the largest number of children outside schools in Pakistan. The majority of out-of–school-children belong to Sindh which is six million. Other provinces have improved over time instead of Sindh where the situation is getting worse.
According to the recent report, about 43% of 10-year-old children while 45% of children aged 15 years are outside schools in Sindh province. 28 percent of children are from urban areas while 61 percent of children in rural areas are out of school.

However, according to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) reported Pakistan to be second among the countries with the highest number of out-of-school-children (OOSC).
