95% of Punjab Population Supports Teaching of Holy Quran in Schools: According to the reports received by the officials of Gallup Pakistan it is found out that a research survey was carried out by the organization to record the stats of people’s opinion regarding the initiative taken by Punjab government in which Holy Quran teaching is made a mandatory subject in schools from grade 1st to 12th.
The question which was asked from people during the survey was, “Recently the Punjab government has made the teachings of Holy Quran a subject compulsory in schools across the province from first to twelfth grade. Some people support this initiative of the Punjab government, while some people oppose this initiative of the government. What is your opinion about it?”
As per the recorded opinion poll, 95%, which is a noticeable majority, has shown support for this initiative, 1% of the population of Punjab showed disagreement with the decision, while 4% stayed neutral or did not answer because they were uninformed of this step taken by the government.

Earlier, Islamia University Bahawalpur has become the first University in the country to offer regular classes of Arabic Language in all the faculties for better translation and understanding of the Holy Quran.
Prime minister also emphasized while briefing about Single National Curriculum and said that under the influence of SNC students will get enlightened about Islamic perspectives as Nazra will be a compulsory subject along with the life of the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) being taught about.
